Intel Corp. Chairman Lists AccuNurse® Among Breakthrough Products in Healthcare Technology

Dulles, VA – In his keynote address at the 2006 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference, Craig R. Barrett, Chairman of the Board of Intel Corporation, included AccuNurse® among nine cutting-edge technologies that will improve healthcare quality while reducing costs.

AccuNurse is a revolutionary voice-activated and hands-free documentation and communication system that improves the accuracy and quality of care provided by nurses and nursing assistants in long-term care settings, such as nursing homes. The sophisticated speech recognition technology in AccuNurse allows the staff to hear detailed resident care information, document their completed tasks, and instantly talk to each other at any time and any place – all via a lightweight headset. AccuNurse then creates real-time reports for prompt nursing review and care. The major components of AccuNurse were prominently displayed at the Intel technology showcase table that supplemented Barrett’s presentation.

AccuNurse was developed by Adherence Technologies Corporation of Dulles, VA, a company dedicated to the development of practical, innovative healthcare technology products that are easy to use. “We are delighted that AccuNurse was featured at the HIMSS conference,” says Alan Letzt, Adherence Technologies’ founder and President. “It’s an honor to have our product recognized by a technology leader at a major healthcare technology conference in its early and successful stage of commercialization.
